St Andrews Church

West Deeping

St Andrews is usually open daily from 9am to 5pm.

Services: For details of all services/events in the Uffington Group of churches, please see Towers & Spires or click link below. Information can also be found on the WD Parish Council Website.

Messy Church: The next service is in West Deeping Village Hall. Messy Church is an informal, craft-based form of church for children of all ages. A fun and informal form of church. Craft activities based around a Bible reading/theme followed by singing, some prayers, and a meal together. For all ages but particularly suitable for families with young children – adults/guardians stay with the children. Please feel welcome to come along and join in. Tell your friends and invite anyone who you think would be interested. For more information or interested in volunteering, please contact Les Baillie 01780 765908 bailliesinuk@aol.com or Fr Aran 07590055905 aran.beesley@gmail.com

Foodbank: If you would like to donate to Foodbank there is a donation area/box in the Church. Collections are taken to the foodbank regularly.

St Andrews has also been available as a venue for district musical events, village celebrations, including games, picnics and jubilee festivities and the village lending library during lockdown.

Look out for the next Friends’ Group Newsletter for further details about the church facilities improvement project and other events in the coming year. If you are not yet a member of West Deeping Friends’ Group and would like to join, please contact Colin Blagrove.

Formed in 2012, they offer an eclectic mix of traditional English folksong, songs of work and the common man, their influences include such legends as The Wilson Family and Kimbers Men. Their take on the songs they choose to share is distinctive, the harmonies sublime. They have supported international acts such as Miranda Sykes and Rex Preston and are currently working towards their debut album. However, it is the subject of much debate as to whether their oft-irreverent banter is the act, with musical interludes. Either way, The Lincolnshire Poachers have something to offer everyone. They may even throw in the odd surprise
